CHILTERN SHAKESPEARE COMPANY

Shakespeare's plays in a magnificent outdoor setting.

Arguably one of Britain's top amateur dramatic companies.

Roofed auditorium, catering, and ample parking.

Supporting both local and national charities.

Every year since 1989 the unique magic of Shakespeare has been freshly recreated in the lovely open air setting of Hall Barn, a stately home on the outskirts of Beaconsfield, Bucks, UK. Audiences in their tens of thousands have enjoyed spectacular productions of such well-loved plays as Much Ado about Nothing, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You Like it, The Taming of the Shrew, The Merchant of Venice and The Merry Wives of Windsor.

StandThe Chiltern Shakespeare Company was founded by the late Michael Wiseman. Its aim was and is to celebrate the works of England's greatest dramatist in a style that is both traditional and highly imaginative. Performances are given by some of the finest amateur actors in the Thames Valley and Chilterns and our productions are renowned for their flair, colour and sheer professionalism.

Visitors to the Open Air Theatre enjoy comfortable seating in a 650+ seat covered auditorium which offers a full view of the stage and special facilities for the disabled and hard of hearing. Parking space is ample and close to the auditorium. Excellent meals and a bar are provided in a main marquee. For many of our patrons, an evening at Hall Barn is incomplete without the pleasure of a picnic in the glorious grounds.

Our President is Dame Wendy Hiller OBE and our distinguished patrons include Miss Dulcie Gray, Mr Jeremy Irons and the Hon. Mrs Jenefer Farncombe to whom we continue to be grateful for permission to stage our productions at Hall Barn.
